The Ages and Stages Questionnaire Social Emotional- Second Edition (ASQ:SE-2) is a validated, standardized developmental screening tool that can provide rich information about a child’s social and emotional development including self regulation, adapting to situations, and interaction with people. The ASQ:SE-2 can be used in a variety of settings to support a family’s understanding of their child’s development and provide evidence for further assessment and developmental support.
In this session, participants will become familiar with the social- emotional developmental continuum and the 7 behavioral areas as defined in the ASQ:SE-2. Participants will consider next steps , including referrals & identifying additional resources within the community for children and families based on the ASQ:SE-2 results. This workshop is appropriate for I/ECMHC who plans on supporting the ASQ:SE-2, including early intervention, early childhood, and other healthcare providers. Understanding Social Emotional Development can assist in preventing expulsion/suspension by providing appropriate support for both child & caregiver.

CLASS SUMMARY
Participants will become a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI®) through the International Loving Touch Foundation. Participants will be qualified to teach parents/primary caregivers how to massage their infants and children after completing the 2 day instructor training and completing the written exam & follow up practicum experience.
The course is taught by a International Loving Touch Foundation Trainer through presentations, discussions, and readings as well as through hands-on participation with infant massage dolls through two demonstration infant massage classes with parents and their infants.
Your certification is from the International Loving Touch Foundation and issued out of their Portland location upon completing the course and practicum requirements. Certification requirements include completing a written exam using the reading materials listed below and offering the Loving Touch Infant Massage Curriculum to a minimum of 4 families with completed notes and parent surveys.
The CIMI® Certified Infant Massage Instructor 2-Day Training evidence-based program is designed for Nurses, Early Intervention Specialists, Occupational and Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Developmental Specialists, Parent Educators, Child Life Specialists, Social Workers and other interested professionals who are licensed and work with infants and children.
